Lindsey (Lou) Howard is a ceramic sculptor examining the intersections of food, history, and value. Using food as a visual language, she creates satirized sculptures that document moments throughout and taking place currently in history. Howard draws from the spectacle of foodie culture, culinary histories, and the product-obsessed nature of capitalist industries to critically examine the systemic flaws within food. At the forefront of her work is an interest in food psychology and questioning the origins of American consumption practices. Howard pushes the boundaries of food humor and horror to critique the histories and current state of the American industrial food complex.
Lindsey (Lou) Howard (b.1997) was born in Dallas, Texas and based in Brooklyn, New York. Howard's work has been exhibited domestically and internationally including Museum Stadtpalais in Stuttgart, Germany (2023); Christie's Gallery in London, England (2024); Jeffery Deitch in Maimi, FL (2025) and BUoY Arts Center in Tokyo, Japan (2026). Howard has presented solo exhibitions with Launch F18 (New York, NY) in 2022 and Albertz Benda (Los Angeles, CA) in 2023. Previously, she was an Artist-in-Residence at PLOP in London, England (2023) and the Museum of Art and Design (2025) in New York, NY. She is currently living in working in Pomona, CA as the Artist-in-Residence at the American Museum of Ceramic Art (2026).
